We are looking for a Principal User Exp Design Architect to join the Syncplicity team, responsible for delivering a consistent innovative cross-platform experience for Syncplicity. As the design leader on the products team you will be responsible for owning the User Interface and User Experience Design from start to finish. You will be working along-side our product managers, developers and fellow designers to further our mission to bring delightful product experiences to our customers.

This is a hands-on position, where you will be expected to get your hands dirty in your design tools of choice, prototyping, wire-framing and putting together polished UI designs.  The other big component of this role is talking to users and becoming an advocate for the user in the product and design process.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with product management to ensure that we deliver on the best possible user experiences.
  • Help define the UX vision and be accountable for delivering world-class experiences that delight users.
  • Talk with customers; conduct usability tests. Each product team member is required to do customer research and so will you.
  • Wire-framing > Mocking up UI/UX flows > and delivering pixel perfect, intuitive UI Designs that users love. Where possible, your team will provide code snippets to ensure design consistency across our products.
  • Make data-driven decisions – using information gathered through usability tests and partnering with product management to leverage adoption and active user metrics.
  • Drive User Experience thought leadership in both the company and the industry.

Qualifications

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience creating great, user-centered design solutions that have moved the needle commercially or in terms of customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills, including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
  • Experience working in Agile teams
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment – we want candidates with that entrepreneurial spark.
  • Ability to define patterns and advocate for consistency, without repressing inspiration or inhibiting innovation.
  • Strong practical knowledge of user-centered design methodologies, usability principles, information architecture and design.
  • Capacity to conducting user research and translating user research into design decisions.
  • A keen sense for product tradeoffs and delivering simple and intuitive products that just work.
  • Deep experience designing for mobile applications is strongly desired.
  • 5-7+ years as an information architect, interaction designer, experience designer, or similar role – delivering design solutions for web, mobile and desktop applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience as an interactive/user experience designer.
