Axway’s Global IT Team is seeking a Security Engineer to support our infrastructure securityOur Cybersecurity Solutions Group works to enable business while protecting our employees, assets and customer data.   The selected candidate will have deep experience in cloud security engineering and architecture. This role is ideal for a security-focused technologist who can design and secure cloud-native environments, lead Microsoft 365 administration, and contribute to security analytics and SOC operations.  The selected candidate will also assist in managing the systems that provide 24x7x365 monitoring, vulnerability analysis and endpoint protection among other tools.  The selected candidate will also work to improve detections and automations to create efficient alert and incident analysis and improve response time to information security related threats including malware, policy violations, and advanced persistent threatsThey will interface with technical teams to promote security initiatives, ensure policy compliance, and protect Axway sensitive data and critical infrastructure while also assisting the team with Security Analysis reviewing and responding to alerts dailyThe successful candidate will value documentation creation and communication, leverage technical experience to enhance team collaboration, and be self-driven to solve problems with a focus on the ongoing drive towards the team mission. 

 

Responsibilities

 

The successful candidate will work with the Director, Cybersecurity and various IT Teams to maintain the IT Security Mission 

  • Cloud Security Engineering & Architecture 
  • Design and implement secure architectures across Azure, AWS, and hybrid cloud environments. 
  • Develop and enforce cloud security policies, including identity and access management, encryption, and network segmentation. 
  • Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to embed security into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code deployments. 
  • Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments for cloud-based applications and services. 
  • Microsoft 365 Administration & Security 
  • Manage and secure M365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive. 
  • Administer Azure AD, Conditional Access, and Defender for Office 365 to ensure secure collaboration and identity protection. 
  • Monitor and respond to M365 security alerts and compliance issues using Microsoft Purview and the Security & Compliance Center. 
  • Security Analytics & SOC Collaboration 
  • Analyze logs and alerts from SIEM platforms (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel) to detect and respond to threats. 
  • Support incident response and forensic investigations with actionable insights. 
  • Collaborate with SOC teams to improve detection rules, automate response playbooks, and integrate threat intelligence. 
  • Qualifications: 
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud security engineering and M365 administration. 
  • Able to independently manage technical projects to completion 
  • Strong knowledge of Azure security services, IAM, and cloud-native security controls. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender suite, Sentinel, and other security analytics tools. 
  • Familiarity with SOC operations, threat hunting, and incident response. 
  • Certifications such as CISSP, Azure Security Engineer Associate, or Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate are highly desirable. 

Qualifications

 

Technical skill sets are valued for any engineering role but the key requirement is excellent communication skills (verbal and written)The foundation of success is in the ability to work with diverse technical and non-technical teams to promote the implementation of security principles into the business processesEffective communication with our internal and external customers while analyzing and solving security problems collaboratively to ensure the best customer experience is paramount to successAnd it is expected that strong ethical behavior guides all work to protect our customers and their data.   

Requirements 

  • Minimum of 2+ years in a Security Engineering or similar role. 
  • Experience using/administering SIEM and AV technology [Splunk, QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel, ArcSight | MS Defender, Symantec, McAfee, Crowdstrike, Cylance] 
  • Experience analyzing log sources originating from security and networking devices such as firewalls, routers, proxy, anti-virus products, and operating systems required. 
  • Experience administering AV and firewall policies 
  • Experience administering Microsoft ATP policies 
  • Minimum 2-5 Years technical IT Experience including cloud, network, server, and desktop 
  • Administration of cloud computing platforms [AWS, Azure, GCP] 
  • Administration of various cloud and on-premises business applications, databases, and middleware [M365, Salesforce, Jira, Confluence] 
  • Demonstrated Interpersonal Skills 
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with diverse technical and non-technical teams [primary English] 
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems with limited direction  
  • Always maintain ethical behavior for all security processes 
  • A strong desire to learn and improve skill sets 
  • Ability to self-start, prioritize and complete work with minimal supervision  
  • Strong focus on customer service in all work efforts 

Other Preferred Skills  

  • CompTIA Network+ AND Security+  [or equivalent knowledge/experience] 
  • In-depth knowledge of security concepts such as cyber-attacks and techniques, threat vectors, risk management, incident management etc. 
  • Strong understanding of networking technologies and architectures [TCPIP, OSPF, BGP] 
  • Intermediate knowledge of Powershell and/or Python scripting
