The new Director of Agility and Program Management, R&D Operations will lead and transform how we execute large-scale R&D initiatives across multiple product lines, engineering teams, and global locations. This role is for a strategic, results-oriented leader with a deep understanding of agile methodologies, operational excellence, and program management at scale.

As a champion of agility and continuous improvement, you will be responsible for ensuring that our R&D teams operate with efficiency, transparency, and adaptability—embedding agile best practices, leveraging data-driven decision-making, and optimizing cross-functional collaboration across diverse teams, cultures, and time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic program execution, ensuring that complex R&D initiatives are delivered efficiently across multiple teams and geographies.
  • Champion agility at scale, embedding agile principles across the organization and ensuring teams can adapt to changing priorities without sacrificing velocity or quality.
  • Optimize R&D operations, implementing lean, scalable processes that improve execution efficiency and enable innovation.
  • Develop and track key performance metrics, using data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement and decision-making.
  • Lead cultural transformation, fostering a mindset of collaboration, experimentation, and iterative learning.
  • Partner closely with engineering, product, and business leaders to drive alignment, prioritize work, and remove operational bottlenecks.
  • Facilitate executive-level communication, ensuring transparency on program status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Mentor and coach teams, upskilling leaders in agile best practices and fostering a high-performance culture across R&D operations.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring that programs stay on track, meet business objectives, and deliver measurable impact.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in program management and agile leadership, with a track record of leading large-scale R&D or engineering initiatives.
  • Deep expertise in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, LeSS, or other agile-at-scale frameworks).
  • Strong technical background in software engineering, AI, or related fields, with the ability to bridge technical and business priorities.
  • Proven experience leading distributed, cross-functional teams across multiple time zones and cultures.
  • Data-driven mindset, with experience defining and tracking OKRs, KPIs, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, from engineering teams to executive leadership.
  • Experience in transforming organizations to be more agile, efficient, and customer-centric.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in AI, ERP Sofware/SaaS, or R&D environments.
  • Background in engineering leadership, technical operations, or enterprise program management.
  • Expertise in scaling agile practices in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong understanding of lean portfolio management and outcome-driven execution.
